The ACT Government lodged the development application for the new $44 million public primary school at Throsby, which is scheduled to open in 2022. The Throsby Pre-school to Year 6 School will be the Territory’s third zero-emissions school and is set to accommodate 450 students, 132 pre-school children and space for people with special needs. The school will provide additional community facilities for the area and will include a large community room and kitchenette, multipurpose double gym, sports courts and change-room facilities, outdoor turf sports field and outdoor multipurpose hardcourts for all to enjoy.

The contractor – Elite Heating & Cooling approached Armcor Air solutions for the Stage 2 of the planning and infrastructure of the Throsby P-6 School ECEC. The school provides the community with a state-of-the-art education facility focusing on 21st century education philosophies in both indoor and outdoor learning areas.

For this state-of-the-art education facility, the contractor needed two of the packaged air conditioning units to be manufactured and delivered for generating fresh air solutions to the building. The units selected had the capacity of 4500 l/sec with the compressor capacity of 96 Kw. These units were manufactured in the economy cycle to further increase the efficiency in favourable ambient conditions. The unit configuration suits external rooftop or ground level applications and included energy-saving EC Plug Fans and the option of enthalpy heat exchange media.
