Location: Little Mountain, QLD
Mechanical Consultant: Ashburner Francis
Contractor: Snowdonia Airconditioning

The Clients Challenge
Community projects have a requirement for fresh air which in Queensland requires introducing air at temperatures above the comfort level. Energy recovery is the obvious choice to maintain efficient operating costs.

The Solutions Provided to meet the Challenge
Armcor had the correct size equipment that was suited to the specification The XEP4000 unit was used and optional economy dampers were added to achieve the economy cycle operation to further increase efficiencies and make the most of the reduced ambient early morning and late evening. A CO2 sensor is used to modulate the dampers to maintain the correct indoor air quality.

The Positive Result
Being a full packaged airconditioning unit it is able to fulfil the total requirement for energy recovery and also provide temperature control to ensure the occupants are comfortable 24/7.

The Client
Churches of Christ in Queensland is building a master planned campus on vacant Parklands Boulevard land. The $28 million first stage of the ‘Churches of Christ Campus Meridan’ will create a variety of activity spaces and services and will include multi-purpose community centre, café, seniors care accommodation and home care and support services.
The state-of-the-art residential aged care service will accommodate seniors in a series of themed cottage-style one and two storey buildings. The community hub will be available for local community groups and Meridan Campus residents to enjoy as part of the integrated community lifestyle. The hub includes a cafe, hairdressing salon and auditorium.
“The aged care service will provide the best in care to enable local seniors to age in place with no need to move from their community if their care needs change.”
