Willows forms the major retail component of the Thuringowa Town Centre in Townsville. The refurbishment and upgrade of Willows is a two year project to expand and upgrade the centre to provide customers with a contemporary lifestyle shopping experience.

The $90.7 million expansion is anticipated to create 270 construction jobs for the duration of the project and over 360 retail jobs once completed.

Armcor was selected to manufacture 8 Air Handling Units ranging from 4155 l/sec to 15,000 l/sec capacity.  The project demanded special considerations in the coil design to accommodate the heat load and humidity conditions in Townsville.  With a requirement for bottom air inlet and discharge, Armcor was able to work within the design constraints to develop equipment sized for transportation and manufacturing efficiencies.

The design included Blue Fin coated chilled water coils, Stainless Steel drain trays, F5 deep bed Filters, internal lighting in the fan chambers and Magnehelic Gauges.
