Fresh Air Requirement Met at Melbourne’s Innovative Precinct.
Elizabeth North is a 70,000-SQM development located at Elizabeth Street in Melbourne’s biomedical precinct – about 2 minutes from the future Parkville Station – and it will feature a blend of heritage-listed as well as modern buildings that are set to serve Melbourne’s education and biomedical precincts.
Ground-floor retail with leading Elizabeth Street frontage will serve the surrounding community and city – while the institutions and businesses based on-site will enjoy first-class facilities and city access.
The project called for some large energy recovery equipment. Armcor manufactured and provided two of its units, one with a capacity of more than 14,000 l/sec.
The ideal way to get the most efficient fresh air conditioning is with an energy recovery unit that recovers the heat from the exhaust air. In this situation, Armcor coupled chilled water and hot water coil into the unit added an economy cycle and by-pass damper to provide a packaged unit that will fulfill the necessary specifications for such a prestigious project.
Armcor solved the design requirements with specially constructed polypropylene heat exchange media installed along with the energy-efficient EC Plug Fans, hot water coils, and filters.
