Adelaide High School is undergoing a $23 million facility upgrade which is prioritised to ensure infrastructure is completed in time for year 7 students to begin high school by 2022. This upgrade will provide students with world-class facilities and help the school prepare for the students to move into high school. The school is located within the Adelaide Park Lands by West Terrace in the central city, on the land of the Kaurna people.
The upgrade at Adelaide High School will deliver a new ‘Hive” building providing classrooms, specialist learning areas, canteen café and outdoor learning areas, as well as an additional storey on an existing building to provide more learning areas, upgrades to the student courtyard and landscaping. Adelaide High School is set to receive a modern, state-of-the-art upgrade that will benefit its students for years to come.
The new design of the Hive building at the Adelaide High School expresses a new future for the school where education design incorporates the ability to adapt, experiment, and encourage independent learning. The contractor approached Armcor for its impeccable design, engineering, and manufacturing expertise. The refurbishment project required the packaged air conditioning units for the state-of-the-art building. Armcor’s XEP Range along with the optional economy system were selected as per the project specifications. The XEP units – XEP4000P3S-EC, XEP5000P3S-EC and XEP1500P3S-EC were slot into the production schedule and made ready and delivered earlier this year. Armcor also provided its XCM’S – compact, horizontal low-profile ceiling mount heat recovery unit designed for installation within a roof space. Three of the XCM400P1S units were also assembled and manufactured to fulfill the needs of the project.
All these units were delivered in two deliveries as per the requirement of the project schedule.
