Essendon Fields Airport is the site of Melbourne’s first airport and was the city’s international airport until 1970. Today, it provides the infrastructure and operations for more than 50,000 aircraft movements per year, servicing the corporate and private jet, regional passenger transport and emergency services sectors.
The multi-million dollar renovation in October 2019 was the first major renovation the terminal has undergone since opening in 1959. After which the redevelopment of the iconic Terminal building was announced which was extended to include the Southern End of the terminal. Armcor Air Solutions worked with one of Melbourne’s leading Mechanical services contractors, for the fit-out of the Stage 2 Refurbishment of the Essendon Airport Terminal Building.
Armcor Air Solutions provided the XEM unit to suit the requirements of the Essendon Airport Terminal Project. The XEM series is our standard heat recovery ERV solution for rooftop, ground level or plant room applications. These units utilize the Xchange plate heat exchanger to recover the energy from the exhaust air and transfer it to the incoming fresh air, resulting in significant energy savings. Both enthalpy and sensible heat exchange media are available, but sensible heat exchange media was selected for this project. The XEM Series is particularly suited to an optional economy bypass system.
EC Plug fans are standard on all models, providing variable speed control and optimal energy efficiency.
Armcor Air Solutions successfully complete another project to bring Fresh Air Indoors.
