Art centres require controlled air conditioning with significant fresh air for the comfort of the occupants and the correct environment for the many artefacts and show pieces.
The selection of Armcor Air Solution ERV equipment for Stage 2 of the Belconnen Arts Centre was a qualified decision for this important ACT project.
The story of Belconnen Arts Centre stretches back more than 20 years, to when a visionary community sought and secured land for a cultural centre on the spectacular banks of Lake Ginninderra, ensuring the Town Centre would have a creative community hub for generations to come.
Stage 1 of an architecturally stunning Centre opened to the public in late 2009.
Stage 2 was funded with a $15 million commitment by the ACT Government. Belconnen Arts Centre is doubling in size, with a new black box theatre, galleries, cafe, resident company offices and rehearsal studio. These spaces will transform Belconnen Arts Centre into a true multi-arts hub with purpose-built spaces for development and performance of dance, theatre, circus and music.
The selection of energy recovery equipment is the obvious choice to economically provide this fresh air requirement. With the low ambient temperatures often experienced in ACT, the units were fitted with addition Hot Water Coils to provide the back-up heat required.
Again, Armcor provides the right equipment for the right project.
