Location: St Helens, TAS
Contractor: HVAC Supplies
A totally new St Helens District Hospital at a new site will replace the existing hospital which suffered from continual flooding events. This will provide room to grow as future care needs and service priorities arise for Tasmanian East Coast residents.
The new hospital includes 10 impatient beds, four emergency bays, four consultation rooms, two physio rooms and three separate rooms for training, community nursing and treatment, and community activities. There is also a range of new facilities to provide diabetes care, radiology and oral health.
With construction expected to be completed by December 2018, the HVAC design centred around three Armcor ERV units to supply controlled conditioned fresh air. The units incorporated hot and chilled water coils, an economy damper system and EC plug fans giving the best options for energy recovery, efficiency and equipment life cycle.
