Energy Recovery for a healthy learning environment
Hallett Cove School is one among the range of government schools across metropolitan and regional South Australia to receive major upgrades to their infrastructure.
Among the upgrades being considered are a full refurbishment and expansion of the middle school building, encompassing two food technology laboratories, two visual art studios, general learning areas, learning commons, and additional staff support spaces.
With a budget of approximately $10m, natural lighting and ventilation to provide a healthy learning environment were important aspects of the design.
Contracted to provide mechanical services, Glow Heating Cooling Electrical chose Armcor for the manufacturing of a total of 12 Energy Recovery External Mount Units to supply controlled conditioned fresh air to the building. Each unit utilises the Xchange plate heat exchanger to recover the energy from the exhaust air.
Armcor was able to match the project requirement and budget as well as supply the equipment in the required timeframe.
