Derwent Entertainment Centre, also known as the DEC and known commercially as MyState Bank Arena, is the largest indoor arena in Tasmania and the multi-purpose arena is the primary venue in Hobart for large indoor functions/events. For over 20 years MyState Bank Arena has played host to large concerts, trade shows, exhibitions, sporting events and conferences, plus been the ideal setting for intimate meetings, assemblies, dinners, weddings, and private functions. The MyState Bank Arena is the largest capacity and most versatile indoor entertainment venue in Tasmania.
The $56 million upgrade to the Derwent Entertainment Centre, which is in progress at Glenorchy when completed will become the heart of Tasmanian entertainment and sport.
In June 2021, as the arena took on a physical transformation due to the redevelopment it also took on a new name through a partnership with Tasmania’s MyState Bank. During this massive redevelopment, Armcor proudly partnered up with the mechanical consultant and the contractor to provide them the Australian made “Customised” impeccable state of art energy efficient solutions for Fresh Air Indoors.
Armcor Air Solutions provided various Energy Recovery XEC units to suit the specific requirements of the MyState Bank Arena. These were four units of XEC14000P3S, two of the XEC1600P3E, two of the XEC800P3E, and one each of the units of XEC3500P3E, XEC4500P3E, XEC1200P3E, and XEC400P3E. The four units of XEC14000P3 were custom made especially for this contract. All these units were fitted with chilled and hot water coils. The units had energy saving EC Plug Fans with sensible heat exchange media and electrical control option included. An optional economy system was easily accommodated by increasing the width of the unit to allow bypass for both fresh and exhaust air. Except for the XEC14000P3 and XEC400P3, all other units were supplied with the economy system.
