To create more staff accommodation, Curtin University sought to repurpose Building 603 from Teaching and Learning into a new Student Services location. The program required to achieve a seamless transition within the existing building fabric and to introduced new architectural features.
The new office space required workstations, break-out spaces and meeting rooms. Loose furniture coordination and refurbishment of the existing spaces was needed as well as the installation of 58 sit-to-stand workstations to Curtin’s specification, requiring their very own alternative solutions to cable paths. New structural beams and columns were included in the scope to provide architectural screening and division.
Armcor was proud to be associated with the Curtin University’s upgrading project for providing a state of the art, energy efficient XEP Packaged Airconditioning Series. With the collaboration of the contractor, Armcor delivered its XEP1200P3 in the Economy Cycle. Armcor made sure that the equipment met the satisfaction of the contractor, consulting engineers and Curtin University.
The XEP combines the efficiency of heat exchange integrated with a packaged airconditioning system to provide a total solution to temperature control for applications that require substantial or full fresh air. The optional economy system was easily accommodated with modulation dampers to further increase efficiency in favourable ambient conditions.
Armcor successfully fulfills one more contract bringing fresh air indoors.
