Location: North Adelaide, SA
Contractor: OP Industries Pty Ltd.
The boutique 138 Room Oval Hotel integrates with the Eastern Stand of the Adelaide Oval, celebrating its parkland setting and context.
It maintains the current scale and proportion of built form, retaining views of the seating bowl and roof structure.
The hotel will be built on two elevated pods that follow the external curves of the eastern façade of the stadium and therefore will not encroach on the parklands or the plaza.
Rooms will have spectacular views, including St Peter’s Cathedral, Adelaide Parklands and city skyline.
The two units required for energy recovery were carefully selected and included additional features specifically for this project.
A full economy system was integrated to provide ‘free cooling’ when the ambient conditions permit.
An additional filter plenum was added to incorporate the F5 bag filters and powder coated inlet and exhaust grills were added which gave the units the high profile finish that mirrors this project. Each unit had two digital scroll compressors to provide 60kW heating & cooling capacity.
The COVID pandemic did interrupt the supply of components, but Armcor worked with the contractor to have these units ready for the installation timeline.
