Air handling unit provides comfortable shopping experience in new Woolworths’ store

Once a working class suburb, North Melbourne is now a snappy, stylish strip with pretty terrace houses, award-winning cafes and a happening arts scene.

Its urban coolness has been further enhanced with addition of Arden Gardens, a new residential building which combines the best of local retail with residential luxury.

A collection of contemporary 1-4 bedroom apartments in two residential towers with stunning, uninterrupted city views, the building has embraced the new norm for premium, mixed-use development by combining a vibrant retail precinct at street level.

With Woolworths as the anchor tenant, this on-site retail precinct includes a variety of specialty retail stories conveniently on offer for both residents and the general public.

When mechanical consultant for the Arden Gardens Woolworths project, JBA Consulting Engineer, went in search of an air handling solution, Armcor was the logical selection.

The companies had worked together on multiple Woolworths’ stores.

JBA was also confident Armcor could meet the exacting requirements of the project: an air handling solution designed and built to Woolworths’ specifications that would enable an enjoyable shopping experience for supermarket customers.

The result is a custom-built solution capable of providing the main trading area with 14,500 l/sec supply air and 4,200 l/sec fresh air and which incorporates economy cycle dampers, direct expansion cooling coils, a heating coil, deep bed air filters and EC plug fans.

Armcor is thrilled to have contributed to yet another successful shopping complex development.
